Our StoryNorthGrove, like many Calvary Chapels, began as a home fellowship. Pastor Sam and his friend Richard Ibarra, served at Calvary Chapel WestGrove for many years together. They went to School of Ministry under Pastor Jack Abeelen at Morning Star Christian Chapel. During this time Sam and Richard met at the club house in Richard's community. They then moved the Studies to Sam's back yard. The study went from a study to a fellowship and the move was made to form a church. Sam was ordained by Pastor Brad Young at Calvary Chapel WestGrove and sent out to plant NorthGrove in 2014. We have been blessed to continue in the Study of God's word and worship in every class, service and prayer meeting. God is faithful!
Our hope is while God has us here we would be used to bring Him glory and bring people of all tongues, tribes and nations to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ our Lord. John 3:16-17..... |
Our Vision
Our vision is to bring the Good News of our risen Lord and Savior Jesus to a lost and thirsty world (John 4:14) our emphasis is to worship our God and Father through song and prayer, we gather to hear from Him in hope and anticipation that He will help us to be transformed into the image of His Son Jesus.
Pastor Sam BarelaIn 1990 his life was forever changed by God's grace and the knowledge of Him. Pastor Sam had felt the burden to share the gospel for many years. He attended and served the Lord at Calvary Chapel WestGrove for 25 years before he completed School of ministry and was ordained in 2014. In God's perfect timing Pastor Sam and his wife Charlene planted NorthGrove surrounded by faithful men and women that love God and people.
Sam and his lovely wife Charlene have been together since Jr. High School and have been married now for 43 years. They have three adult children which have blessed them with nine wonderful grandchildren with hopes of more to come. During this journey Sam and Char have definitely been tested and tried in marriage and raising children, through life and death they have testified, "God remains faithful". With God all things are possible (Matt. 19:26). |
